In concept and development
From the first chapter to the finished book.
Authaurus Draft is being designed to help you write and finish your first draft. Authaurus Manuscript takes over when the last word is written: revising, submitting and publishing. Neither is available yet. This page shows what we are building.

Each tool leads to the next, and your plan and history come with you. You never start again from scratch.
Authaurus Draft
Open the app. Read your last two lines. Keep writing.
Most first drafts stall in the gap between sitting down and writing the next word. Draft is being designed to close that gap. It puts you back in the story the moment you open it, and keeps everything you know about your book within reach while you write.
Draft includes everything in WordTracker, so your sessions, pace and streak are tracked as you write, without logging anything by hand.

Chapter 4: Old Ghosts
She said it the way you say something you have rehearsed, because you have held it so long the words have worn smooth.
Next beat: Luke learns Rupert worked with his father.

Green: first draft. Amber: in progress. Grey: not started.
A calm place to write
A clean editor built for long-form prose. Standard mode keeps your notes alongside; focus mode leaves only the page. Light, dark or sepia, your choice of font and page width. It saves as you type, and keeps working if your connection drops.
Plan first, or write first
Set up your chapters, structure and targets before you begin, or go straight to a blank first chapter and plan as you go. The planning tools stay to hand either way.
Chapters with a job to do
Give each chapter a summary and story beats, then mark it from not started through to revised. Reorder chapters as the book changes shape, and see the whole manuscript on one page.
Characters and world, linked to chapters
Keep a profile for every character and an entry for every place and rule of your world. Link them to the chapters they appear in, so the right notes sit beside the page as you write.
Search everything you have written
Find any character, place or detail across every chapter and note in seconds, without losing your place.
Checks that find, never write
Ask Draft to check a character for inconsistencies, test a fact against earlier chapters, or show overused words and repeated phrases in a chapter. It reports what it finds. You decide what to change.
A structure, if you want one
Three-act, the hero’s journey, Save the Cat, five-act, your own, or none at all.
Progress without the paperwork
Open a chapter and the session starts. Close it and your words, time and pace are logged. Coming from WordTracker? Everything you have tracked comes with you.
Our rule on AI
The words are always yours.
Draft and Manuscript use AI to help you check your own work. They will never write it for you, at any level, for any price.
What the AI does
Finds inconsistencies in a character across chapters
Tests a fact or event against what you wrote earlier
Finds every use of a name, including near misses
Shows patterns: overused words, repeated phrases, sentence lengths
Runs only when you ask, on only the chapters it needs
What it never does
Writes, rewrites or completes your sentences
Suggests different words or phrasing
Offers plot, character or story ideas
Scores or judges the quality of your writing
Generates content of any kind
Authaurus Manuscript
The draft is done. Now the book has to go somewhere.
Finishing a draft brings a new set of jobs: revising, gathering feedback, submitting to agents or publishing yourself, and keeping track of what comes back. Manuscript is being designed to hold all of it in one place, alongside everything in Draft.

Revise with a safety net
Save versions as you go, see each chapter’s history and track changes, so no cut is ever final unless you want it to be.
Feedback from beta readers
Share chapters with trusted readers and gather their comments in one place. Mark each one as acted on, set aside or still to decide.
Submissions without the spreadsheet
Prepare query letters and track every agent and publisher: who, when, what you sent and what came back. Linked to the Authaurus Directory.
Choose your route
Clear guidance on traditional and self-publishing, with no bias towards either. Both routes are supported.
A path to self-publishing
A guided workflow covering platforms, formatting and distribution, with export to Word, PDF and EPUB and submission-ready formatting for agents.
Royalties in one view
Record royalty statements and payments by book, format and platform, and see your writing income across every title.
Checks across the whole book
Consistency, pacing, chapter balance, character arcs, readability and style, checked across the full manuscript. The same rule applies: it finds, you decide.
Manuscript is at an earlier stage than Draft. This list shows where it is heading and may change as it is built.
Tap to record
Included with Draft and Manuscript
Spark: catch the idea before it goes.
The best lines arrive on a walk, in the car or at three in the morning. Spark is a phone app for iOS and Android: tap once and speak, tap again to stop. It transcribes what you said and keeps it in an inbox, so you can sort it later as plot, character, scene or dialogue. It works without a signal, too.
