Altarus Publishing Ltd. Last updated: 3 November 2026
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use authaurus.app, how we use it, and your rights. We collect only what we need, and we do not sell your data.
Who is responsible for your data
Altarus Publishing Ltd (company number HE 489032), Onisiforou Center, 2nd floor, Neofytou Nikolaidi & Theodorou Kolokotroni, Agios Theodoros, 8011 Paphos, Cyprus, is the controller of the personal data collected through this site. We process it under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Cyprus data protection law. Contact: hello@authaurus.app.
What we collect
•
Your email address, when you ask for a WordPlan Builder plan, join the Draft Lite list or create an account.
•
Your WordPlan answers, when you use WordPlan Builder: book type, genre, audience, target word count, weekly words, number of weeks, finish date, your stage of writing, experience, publishing plans and what gets in the way. We use them to build your plan, and to fill in your WordTracker plan if you create an account with the same email address.
•
Emails you send us, and our replies.
•
Technical data that our hosting provider records automatically, such as your IP address and browser type, to keep the site secure and working.
•
Anonymous visit statistics: the pages viewed, how long they were viewed, the website that sent you, your device type and your country, recorded with Burst Statistics on our own server. Burst uses no cookies and cannot recognise you on another day. We use these figures because we have a legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used, and nothing is shared with third parties.
•
Your account: your first name, email address and password (stored only in scrambled form), which version of our terms you accepted and when, your plan and its dates, including any trial, and whether you asked to hear about Draft Lite.
•
Your WordTracker data: your book's plan (title, type, genre, audience, word target, writing days, dates and time zone), chapter titles and word counts, your writing sessions with their times, mood and any notes, time away, milestones, and the link to your manuscript if you add one. WordTracker stores the link only, never your writing.
How we use it
•
to run your account and WordTracker, including account emails such as your welcome email and password resets;
•
to fill in your WordTracker plan from the WordPlan you made with the same email address, so you do not have to type it again;
•
to send you the plan or guides you asked for;
•
to tell you when Draft Lite is ready, and to send occasional news about new guides and courses, if you asked us to;
•
to reply to your messages;
•
to keep the site secure and working;
•
to meet our legal obligations.
We do not use your data for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Our legal basis
•
Consent: when you ask for a WordPlan Builder plan, join the Draft Lite list or tick a box to receive our emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.
•
Contract: when you create an account, so that we can provide WordTracker, and when you have a paid subscription.
•
Legitimate interests: keeping the site secure and replying to messages you send us.
•
Legal obligation: keeping records the law requires, such as billing records.
We use MailerLite to store email addresses and send our WordPlan emails and our updates. Our updates tell you when Draft Lite is ready and share occasional news of new guides and courses, at most once a month. You receive them only if you ask, by ticking the box when you create your account or pressing the button on a locked guide. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing costs nothing. Emails the site itself sends, such as your welcome email and password resets, go through MailerSend. Having an account does not add you to our updates.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers we need to run Authaurus:
•
MailerLite, to store your email address and WordPlan answers and to send emails. The WordPlan page also loads a MailerLite script for the Builder form, which shares your IP address with MailerLite;
•
Hostinger, which hosts the website;
•
Google Workspace, which handles our email;
•
MailerSend, which sends the emails the site itself sends, such as password reset emails;
Each provider handles data on our instructions and under data protection terms. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
Transfers outside the EU
Some of these providers, or their subcontractors, process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, they rely on safeguards approved under GDPR, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address and WordPlan answers until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, and we delete them within 30 days of that request, unless the law requires us to keep something longer.
We keep your account and your WordTracker data while your account is open. If you ask us to close your account, we delete it and the data in it within 30 days. If you have not logged in for 12 months, we email you to say we will delete your account. If you do not log in within 30 days of that email, we delete the account and the data in it.
Your rights
You have the right to:
•
access the personal data we hold about you;
•
correct inaccurate data;
•
erase your data, subject to any legal duty to keep it;
•
restrict how we use it in some circumstances;
•
receive your data in a portable format;
•
object to processing based on legitimate interests;
•
withdraw consent at any time, without affecting what happened before.
Email hello@authaurus.app to use any of these rights. We will reply within one month. You can also complain to a data protection authority. In Cyprus, that is the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection; you can also contact the authority in the country where you live.
Children
Authaurus is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
Cookies
We use only the cookies the site needs to work, including one that records your choice in the cookie banner. Our cookie policy lists them. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the foot of every page.
