These terms govern your use of authaurus.app and the services provided by Altarus Publishing Ltd. By using this website or any of our tools, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Who we are
Authaurus is a brand of Altarus Publishing Ltd, a limited liability company registered in Cyprus (company number HE 489032), with its registered office at Onisiforou Center, 2nd floor, Neofytou Nikolaidi & Theodorou Kolokotroni, Agios Theodoros, 8011 Paphos, Cyprus. "We", "us" and "our" mean Altarus Publishing Ltd. "You" and "your" mean the person using this website.
What we offer
•
WordPlan Instant and WordPlan Builder: planning tools you can use at no charge, with no account. WordPlan Builder emails you a writing plan if you give us your email address.

The Library: writing guides you read on this site. Open guides are available to everyone. Ticket guides open when you are logged in to an Authaurus account. Members guides are for Authaurus Members, who are writers on a paid plan, and open when Authaurus Draft Lite launches.

WordTracker: a writing tracker, available at no charge with an Authaurus account.
•
Authaurus Draft Lite: a product in development. It will be a paid plan. Nothing on this site is an offer to supply it, or any other product we are developing, until we announce that it is available.

The Authaurus Directory: a list of editors, designers, agents and publishing services.
We may change, add or withdraw tools and guides. We will tell paying subscribers about any material change to their subscription price before it takes effect.
Accounts
Your account is for you alone, so please do not share your log-in details.
Your account
You need an account to use WordTracker. An account is at no charge. You must be 16 or over, give us your real first name and email address, choose a strong password and keep your log-in details to yourself. One account per person.
You can close your account at any time by emailing hello@authaurus.app. We then delete your account and the data in it within 30 days.
If you have not logged in for 12 months, we email you to say we will close your account. If you do not log in within 30 days of that email, we close it and delete the data in it. Logging in is all it takes to keep it.
We may close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why by email.
Paid plans and trials
Our paid plans, starting with Authaurus Draft Lite, will be paid monthly. We show you the price before you pay, and we tell you before any price change takes effect.
Draft Lite comes with a 14-day trial. You do not need to give us a card. You can have one trial of each paid plan. When a trial ends and you have not chosen a paid plan, your account returns to WordTracker at no charge.
Your writing after a trial or downgrade
If a trial ends, or you move to a lower plan, the text you wrote in a paid tool becomes read-only. You can still read it and export it, and we keep it for as long as your account is open. If you move back to a paid plan, you can edit it again.
WordTracker does not hold your manuscript. It stores your word counts and, if you add one, a link to your manuscript. Please keep your own copy of anything you write.
Acceptable use
You may use Authaurus for lawful purposes only. You must not:

use the site to publish, store or send unlawful, harmful or abusive content;
•
copy, reverse engineer or reproduce any part of the site or its tools without our permission;
•
use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the site;
•
share your log-in details with others;
•
create accounts by automated means or with false details;
•
do anything that could damage, overload or impair the site.
Your content
Anything you write or store in an Authaurus tool remains yours. We do not claim ownership of your work, and we will not read or share it except where needed to provide the service or where the law requires.
Our content
The guides, tools, design, branding and other content on this site belong to Altarus Publishing Ltd and are protected by copyright. You may read the guides and print them for your own use. You may not republish, sell or distribute them without our written permission.
The Directory
Directory listings are information only. We review each listing before it goes live, but we do not endorse, guarantee or supervise any business listed. Any agreement you make is between you and that business, so check their terms, prices and credentials yourself before you hire them.
No professional advice
Authaurus gives writers information and tools. Nothing on this site is professional literary, legal, tax or financial advice. We cannot promise that using our tools or guides will lead to a finished book, a publishing deal or any particular result.
Availability and accuracy
We work to keep the site running, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access, and we may take it offline for maintenance. We aim to keep guides and tools accurate and up to date, but publishing practice, prices and platform terms change, so we cannot promise that every detail is complete or current.
Links to other sites
We link to other websites and mention third-party services. We are not responsible for their content, privacy practices or reliability, and a link is not an endorsement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Altarus Publishing Ltd is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Authaurus, including loss of data, loss of earnings or damage to your work. Our total liability in any case is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Authaurus in the six months before the claim and £100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Cyprus, and the courts of Cyprus have jurisdiction, except where the consumer protection law of the country you live in gives you other rights.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We post the new version here with a new date and version number. If a change matters, we email account holders before it takes effect. If you do not agree with a change, you can close your account. If you keep using the site after a change, the updated terms apply.
